Staff development and training is key to the success of any business, we know that many of our farms are looking for training to help develop their on farm teams or help new staff members get up to speed. This is why, at Nantwich Farm vets, we have put together a series of bite size training modules focusing on the skills required for a herdsperson on a modern dairy farm.
Topics and dates
- Basic veterinary care for cattle - Wednesday 7th September
- Milking routine and mastitis - Wednesday 21st September
- Lameness and mobility scoring - Wednesday 5th October
- Fertility fundamentals - Wednesday 19th October
- Medicines - Wednesday 2nd November
- Calving and transition - Wednesday 16th November
- Calf rearing essentials - Wednesday 30th November
These sessions will run every two weeks, on a Wednesday morning, from 10.30 till 12.30, in the practice meeting room. Sessions can be booked individually at a cost of £50 (plus VAT) or all seven sessions can be booked at a cost of £300 (plus VAT). (This will be invoiced as a lump sum prior to the first session.)
