Following on from our Fundamental Principles of Calf Rearing we will be running an Advanced Calf Management day. This will take a more in depth look at all aspects of caring for the pre-weaned calf and would be recommended for individuals who already have a solid understanding of calf rearing principals.
This day will cover;
- Colostrum management protocols
- Navel management
- Birth to weaning advanced nutrition
- Milk replacer myth busting and calf feeding for lifetime productivity
- Electrolytes
- Vaccine regimes
- Cold and heat stress
- Creating the optimal calf environment
- Basic calf examination
- Scour and pneumonia prevention, with on farm post mortem demonstrations
- Data collection and setting targets
